Aleksandr Gonobolin

Ukrainian violinist, conductor and composer.

People’s Artist of Ukraine, Member of the National Union of Composers of Ukraine, Honorary citizen of the city of Kherson, Member and recipient of diploma and gold medal of the French academic society ARTS-SCIENCES-LETTRES.

Born on November 27, 1953.

He began his violin studies at the music school in Sukhum (Abkhazia) with teacher Anna Bubnova-Ono. He graduated from Professor Olga Parkhomenko’s violin class at Tchaikovsky National Music Academy of Ukraine in 1978. He worked as a soloist of the Kherson Philharmonic and as a conductor of the Capriccio Chamber Orchestra (later Ars Nova) of the Mykolaiv Philharmonic.

He is the winner of many competitions, such as Yuri Falik International Competition for Composers, prize winner at the International Competition “Crossover Composition Award” in Germany and winner of the honorary award “Project Trio” in the USA, Winner of the South Carolina Music Educators Association Composer Competition.

Aleksandr has written over 400 works from symphony and chamber music to ensembles, piano, string instruments, musical theatre productions. Author of numerous works for music school students.

Aleksandr Gonobolin was a conductor of Ars Nova Chamber Orchestra.

He has performed solo concerts in Ukraine, Georgia, Abkhazia, Russia, France, Bulgaria, Hungary, Germany, Holland, Spain and Israel performing his own music and compositions of other renowned authors.

Many famous soloists and orchestras performed works by Aleksandr Gonobolin.

Soloists: B. Pivnenko, O. Bazhenov, O. Rivnyak, D. Udovychenko, D. Gonobolin, G. Moroz, S. Zubytsky, N. Stets, A. Rachmanin, A. Zamkov, V. Osadchyi, and others.

Orchestras: Berliner Philharmoniker, Georgische Kammerorchester, Ensemble Ars Mundi (Spain), National Symphony Orchestra of Ukraine, Symphony Orchestra of the National Radio Company of Ukraine, Zaporizhzhia Academic Symphony Orchestra, National Ensemble of Soloists “Kyiv Camerata”, Mykolaiv Chamber Orchestra “Ars Nova”, etc.
